The four programs in the series are A Tale of Two River, about engineering on the Mississippi and Colorado Rivers; Electric Nation, which documents electricity’s introduction into the United States, from Thomas Edison’s Pearl Street Station in the 1880s to the TVA in the 1930s; Bridging New York, the biography of Othmar Ammann, the Swiss engineer who came to New York and built six of the city’s most important bridges, including the George Washington and the Verazzano Narrows; and The Big Dig, about the most expensive, most complicated highway project in American history.
